Farfield
· by Matthias Jordan · 1 min read
Farfield is a perpetually developing collection of projects spanning Go apps and an opinionated Arch-based OS.
Built around the Go standard library, these static binaries runs on my homelab behind a Cloudflare tunnel. They provide: content and feed management, blob storage, bookmarks, QR codes, and more.

accTitle: Farfield request path
accDescr: Public requests cross Cloudflare and a tunnel into the homelab, where Caddy hands them to small Go apps that keep data in local databases and Cloudflare storage, while private access arrives over Tailscale.

Public traffic reaches the apps only through the tunnel, and my own access comes in over the tailnet.

Borrowing from https://omarchy.org/, Farfield OS bootstraps off of Arch Linux. The end result provides me with a kiosk dashboard, zsh, herdr sessions, Tailscale + Caddy/Cloudflare Tunnel ingress, Claude Code on the host, and the usual runtimes.
